Wireless Zone in Livingston County has taken the option of texting while driving out of the hands of teens and into the sky.
The company is promoting Textecution, a Global Positioning System program that blocks texting functions on cell phones when vehicles exceed 10 mph.
If that happens, the GPS causes a pop-up screen to appear on phones to alert drivers, and all texting functions are disabled.
"It's pretty much going to say, 'Slow down if you want to use this,' in a nutshell," said Phil Swartz, general manager of Wireless Zone in Hartland Township and Genoa Township. (Read More)
